Steps to create FTP sites

The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) service must be installed and started in order to create an FTP site. It is not installed by default.

Creating a Web or FTP site using IIS Manager does not create content, but merely creates a directory structure and configuration files from which to publish the content.

1.

In IIS Manager, expand the local computer, expand the Web Sites folder, right-click Default Web Site, and then click Properties.

2.

On the Web Site tab, under Web site description, type the name of your Web site in the Description box.

3.

Click OK. The name of the new site appears in IIS Manager.
